Frequently Asked Questions — NEET 2026 Result
The NEET UG 2026 Result is expected around 15 July 2026 (2nd week of July). NTA has not announced the exact official date yet. The Answer Key challenge window closed on 28 June 2026; after this, the Expert Committee reviews all objections, the Final Answer Key is released (expected 1st week of July), and then the result is declared. Along with the result, NTA releases the Scorecard, All India Rank (AIR), Category Rank and Merit List on neet.nta.nic.in.
NTA released the NEET UG 2026 Provisional Answer Key on 25 June 2026 for Code 50, 60, 70 and 80. The challenge/objection window was open until 28 June 2026 (11:50 PM IST) and is now closed. The challenge fee was ₹200 per question, refunded if the objection is accepted. NTA is now reviewing all objections through its Expert Committee, and the Final Answer Key is expected in the 1st week of July 2026.

NEET UG 2026 qualifying cutoff percentiles are: General (UR) — 50th percentile (approx. 145–165 marks expected), General-PwBD — 45th percentile, and SC/ST/OBC-NCL — 40th percentile (approx. 100–120 marks expected). These are only the qualifying cutoffs needed to appear in counselling. For actual admission to a Government Medical College, General category candidates usually need 600+ marks.
NEET UG 2026 is worth 720 marks across 180 MCQs: Physics 45 questions (180 marks), Chemistry 45 questions (180 marks), and Biology — Botany 45 + Zoology 45 = 90 questions (360 marks). The marking scheme is +4 for a correct answer, −1 for a wrong answer, and 0 for unattempted. Duration is 180 minutes, in offline OMR-sheet mode. For the 2026 re-exam, NTA confirmed one dropped Physics question and one question with two correct options.
NTA confirmed two adjustments in the NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam (21 June): (1) Question 26 (Physics) in Code 50 was dropped — every candidate who attempted it automatically gets +4 bonus marks; and (2) another Physics question had two correct options, so candidates who selected either correct option get full marks (+4). Both adjustments are reflected in the Final Answer Key and final score calculation.
