In recent years, the highest possible score of 720/720 has been achieved by multiple candidates, who are then ranked using NTA’s official tie-breaking criteria (higher Biology marks, then Chemistry marks, fewer incorrect attempts, and age, as applicable per that year’s bulletin).
How NEET Toppers Are Determined
The All India Rank 1 (AIR 1) goes to the candidate with the highest total marks out of 720. When multiple candidates score identically (common at the very top, since several candidates often score full marks), NTA applies official tie-breaking rules as published in the NEET UG 2026 Information Bulletin to determine the final order.
State-Wise Toppers
Along with the All India topper list, many states and coaching institutes track state-wise and category-wise toppers. Official state topper data, when published by NTA or state education boards, will be added here.
Frequently Asked Questions
NEET UG 2026 Result is expected in the 3rd or 4th week of July 2026. NTA typically releases the result 20–30 days after all exams (including re-exam on 21 June 2026) are completed. The exact date has not been announced by NTA yet.
All India Rank (AIR) is the overall rank among all NEET 2026 candidates regardless of category. Category Rank is the rank within a specific category (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwBD). The Category Rank is used for state quota and reserved category seat allotment. Both ranks are printed on the NEET scorecard. AIQ counselling uses AIR for General seats and Category Rank for reserved seats.
