NEET 2026 MBBS Seat Matrix
The NEET 2026 MBBS Seat Matrix shows how MBBS/BDS seats across India are divided between Government and Private institutions, and between All India Quota and State Quota. The exact, finalised seat matrix for the year is released by MCC and respective State authorities closer to counselling, after NMC approves the year’s total intake.

Allotted through state counselling (or central, for a few deemed universities), fee structure set by the institution/state fee committee
Central Institutions (AIIMS / JIPMER / ESIC / AFMC)
100% seats allotted through AIQ counselling by MCC, regardless of home state

All India Rank (AIR) is the overall rank among all NEET 2026 candidates regardless of category. Category Rank is the rank within a specific category (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwBD). The Category Rank is used for state quota and reserved category seat allotment. Both ranks are printed on the NEET scorecard. AIQ counselling uses AIR for General seats and Category Rank for reserved seats.
All India Quota (AIQ): 15% of Government medical college seats (not in private colleges), plus all AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC, AFMC seats. Conducted by MCC on mcc.nic.in. Open to candidates from all states.
