For NEET UG 2026, the minimum age is 17 years as on 31 December 2026. There is currently no upper age limit (following the Supreme Court order), and there is no cap on the number of attempts. Eligibility requires passing Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology as compulsory subjects, with a minimum of 50% marks for General and 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
All India Quota (AIQ) covers 15% of government medical college seats plus all seats at AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC and AFMC; it is conducted by MCC at mcc.nic.in and is open to candidates from any state. State Quota covers the remaining 85% of government seats plus all private/deemed college seats in a state; it is conducted by the State Authority and usually requires a state domicile certificate.
