How many attempts For NEET: The National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) is the single largest entrance exam. On the other hand, aspirants have long harbored serious doubts about the NEET-UG age limit and the number of attempts.

How Many Attempts for NEET 2024?

For NEET 2024, there are no attempt limitations. The NEET maximum attempt of three limitations was earlier abandoned by the conducting body. “There is no cap for the number of attempts,” according to CBSE. Furthermore, on December 6, 2017, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare received a letter from the CBSE with the reference U.12024/16/2010-ME-II. As a result, the number of NEET attempts is unlimited. The NTA has been administering the National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET) since 2019. It is for entry into all medical schools’ undergraduate medical programs. Aside from AIIMS and JIPMER, NEET (UG) will also be the required entrance exam starting in 2020 for admission to MBBS and BDS programs.

NEET Attempts: Concatenation in the preceding years

When the CBSE suddenly changed the upper age limit for the number of NEET tries in 2017, the students responded with significant criticism. Later on, it became evident that the maximum number of NEET attempts was three, and the highest limit for the reserved category was thirty, and for the unreserved category, it was twenty-five. The Supreme Court overturned this regulation later in 2017 and reintroduced it in NEET 2018 with some changes

NEET 2023: Eligibility criteria 

Indian nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas nationals of India (OCIs), Foreign citizens, and Non-resident Indians (NRIs) are among the inhabitants who are eligible to take the NEET exam.

The NEET exam is open to applicants who meet all eligibility requirements and submit their applications within the deadline.

Applicants who intend to choose medical school must take the NEET 2023 exam.

Students who want to study medicine abroad but eventually want to practice it in India must take the NEET exam.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET 2024

For candidates to sit for the NEET 2024 exam, they must meet the qualifying requirements. Furthermore, the conducting authorities have established some standards, which are as follows:

  • Candidates must complete their class 12 exam or an equivalent test with English and PCB as required subjects.
  • Candidates in the general category must receive at least a 50% on their board exam.
  • Candidates in the reserved category need to receive at least 40%, while PWD candidates ought to receive 45%.
NEET 2024 Exam Pattern

There are two portions in NEET 2024: Section A and Section B. The examination will cover four subjects: chemistry, biology, zoology, and physics.

  • Section A will comprise 35 questions, while Section B will comprise 15 questions. Of these 15, candidates may choose to answer any 10 questions.
  • Each question will have four marks and follow the multiple-choice question format.
